Our blog is chock full of great ideas for fun things to see and do in York Durham and Headwaters. We are always adding new content and updating old posts, but sometimes you might stumble upon something from our vault. If this article has inspired you to hit the road, be sure to double-check that the featured stops in this post are still welcoming visitors.

Golf is best enjoyed with others. When you are playing the round of your life, you want friends to be around to see what you have accomplished. On the flip side, when you are in in the midst of your worst round ever, you need friends around to laugh it off and share your misery over a cold one in the clubhouse. If you are looking for a romantic getaway, golf courses across York Durham Headwaters offer the perfect romantic retreat for golf lovers.
Add some adventure, some romance, or some good cheer to your golf game with these three golf courses, perfect for best friends or couples! Now, I have already told you about the rolling hills found at the Caledon Golf and Country Club, as well as the 45 holes of challenge found at Deer Creek Golf, so here are three more courses that are perfect for fun or romance.

Hockley Valley Resort

Hockley Valley is more than a golf course, it offers a luxury resort experience. Don’t get me wrong, the unrivaled natural beauty and challenging design of this course will test your game, but it is the resort and the course together that make this a must-visit for friends or couples.
Spend the day on their 18-hole championship links-style golf course and take in some of the most breathtaking vistas in southern Ontario. Add a delicious dinner, a wine tour at Adamo Estate Winery, relax at the spa, and spend the night in stunning accommodations. Then, wake up and do it all again the next day! Located just outside of Orangeville, Hockley Valley makes a perfect weekend golf getaway destination.

The Briars

The Briars Golf Club is located just one hour from Toronto on the southern shores of Lake Simcoe. As you wind your way along historic Hedge Road, you immediately feel a sense of relaxation and are swept up in the allure of this location. Featuring majestic tree-lined fairways and strategically placed bunkers, the Briars offers a challenge for all levels of golfers.
The resort at the Briars makes this a true escape from the everyday. After your round of golf, add some adventure to your day with group yoga, beach volleyball, or some kayaking. Kick back and relax in the spa. Unwind with a refreshing cocktail. Enjoy the waterfront views or cozy up beside the campfire with some s’mores. Your whole flock, brood, or clutch will love it!

Copper Creek

Copper Creek offers you spectacular amenities and world-class dining. Located in the town of Kleinburg, Copper Creek provides a number of breathtaking views of one of the top public golf courses in Canada. They take dining seriously, offering a spectacular menu from award winning Executive Chef, Gianpiero Tondina. Not only will the food delight your palate, your eyes will also be rewarded as you sit with your partner by the fireplace or with friends on the terrace overlooking the golf course and the beautiful Humber River Valley.
The course at Cooper Creek offers spectacular play for all skill levels. The grounds are beautifully laid out, and the course is immaculate. You will want to pause each time you step up to the tee and take in the stunning views. It is hard to believe that acre after acre of rolling hills, meandering rivers and lush forests are just 35 minutes from downtown Toronto!
Now that you have read my chicken scratch, you are ready to plan that perfect weekend with friends or that unforgettable date night. These five courses will leave with an experience that extends beyond the course. If you are looking for a day with the kids on the links or a PGA-style experience, you’re in luck, I wrote about them here and here.
It’s time for me to get together with my BFFs (Best Feathered Friends) and hit the links. Until next time, happy golfing!
