Archibald’s Winery

If you love apple picking, come and meet the family who owns and operates Archibald’s Winery. With facilities for apple picking, fruit wine, golf and other Ontario classics, you will be sure to have a great day in Bowmanville. Apple season opens early September with thirteen different varieties of apples to choose from. There’s no admission fee and children are welcome. Spend a day picking your own apples and make the best of the onset of fall!

Albion Orchards

Featured in Chatelaine Magazine as one of the top four apple orchards in Canada for over four years! With seven different varieties to choose from, this farm in Caledon is great pick for apple season in Central Counties. Pick Your Own is on the weekends only, from 10am to 4pm. Trees at Albion Orchards range in age from 2 years to 40 years, making the orchard a pleasure to stroll through. An apple picking tip: twist the apple in one direction until it breaks from the tree – don’t pull!

Opening the second week of September, Pringle’s Farm’s pick your own apples is a fun day with the family! The farm also offers pick your own crops for raspberries, late-season strawberries, and pumpkins. Apple orchards are a short walk from the farm market store and a variety of apples are available to you. Wagon rides are available for strawberries and pumpkins, with the pumpkin patch opening early October. Head out to Hampton and gather your fruits and veggies for the season!

Country Apple Orchard Farm

Located just north of King City, Country Apple Orchard Farm is dedicated to bringing you the best in pick your own apples. A peaceful day at the farm includes manicured grassy rows of trees and environmentally friendly bags to put your apples in (additional charge). The greenery and fresh air will have you feeling restored and excited for fall. The charming farm also offers fresh baked pies, apple cider, local honey and other goodies. With five choices of apples to choose from, you can take a little of each home!

Applewood Farm and Winery

Located in Stouffville, Applewood Farm and Winery offers a great selection of pick your own apples. Not too far from the city, the farm is a great little escape from the hustle of downtown life. The season starts in September, with a large variety of apples to choose from. After picking, you can try their delicious apple wines or cider. apple pie
