With the holidays fast approaching, now it is the time to plan a trip to southern Ontario for some you time. We have a couple of suggestions for relieving your holiday stress. A day at the spa is an excellent way to catch some zen and reconnect with yourself. Also, if you are looking for a distraction, consider taking a trip for dinner and a theatre show. Either way, make sure to reserve some time for yourself and call ahead for reservations during this busy time of the year.

Take time out for yourself and venture out on a road trip to visit one of the top spas in the York, Durham, and Headwaters area. Head to Hockley Valley Resort’s Day Spa to take advantage of their Holiday Spa Specials and indulge in a Pamper Me Holiday Facial or enjoy the Holiday Body Glow package. Theatre Day Trips
December is an excellent time to explore new theatres and take the time to distract yourself from all the holiday happenings. Try a day trip for a Sunday noontime matinee show at the Herongate Barn Theatre in Pickering. Run For Your Wife, a frolicking British farce about a taxi driver who lives a double life with two wives is now showing through December 31. Herongate is dinner theatre experience where you can dine in in an old dairy barn and take a seat in the theatre’s seats from Toronto’s historic old Victory Burlesque Theatre.
The Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts (RHCPA) is a state of the art cultural facility located in the historic downtown core. For the month of December, the Centre is showing the new Gershwin musical comedy Crazy for You, Thom Allison’s: Shut Up, It’s Christmas and a Comedy & Cabaret New Year’s Eve. In addition, if you would like to see some seasonal shows check out A Leahy Family Christmas, Richmond Hill Philharmonic Orchestra’s Home for the Holidays, Victoria Ballet Company’s The Nutcracker or Ensemble Vivant’s Christmas Tidings.
