Astronomy Moonlight Snowshoe

There will be three evenings of snowshoeing under the stars, accompanied by guest speakers who will provide tips and tricks to map out the night sky. Snowshoes are available to rent on a first come first serve basis. If there isn’t enough snow to snowshoes we will alternatively hike. Please be sure to wear appropriate clothing and footwear, hikes will take place on wooded trails.

Island Lake Ice Fishing Derby

Enjoy some competition on the ice this winter! The Island Lake Ice Fishing Derby returns with new categories and prizes. This event will run according to safe ice conditions.

This year, there’s $2,500 in cash prizes up for grabs!!

Services during the derby include heated ice hut rentals, bait, augering of fishing holes, warm-up area, tackle and snack shop! Call ahead to reserve your ice hut. See you on the lake! A valid Ontario Fishing License is required to participate in the derby.

Cost: $35/adult, $10/child (up to 12 yrs), plus daily admission to the park

Celebrate Family Day at Aurora’s Arctic Adventure. Monday February 19 from 10am-4pm at Town Park. There will be live entertainment, battle of the chainsaws, children’s inflatables, body zorbs, mini snow tubing, ice fishing outdoor skating (weather permitting).

We will also be offering a free family Zumba class at 11am at the AFLC and a free leisure swim from 11am-2pm at the SARC. A Bhangra Dance demo will be offered at 1pm at the Aurora Cultural Centre.
