In this special celebration, Quentin “Que Rock” Commanda and DJ Creeaisan a.k.a. Matthew Wood will lead a performance that showcases hip hop and powwow dances side- by-side. The true fire keepers of hip hop, who dance to heal and restore, the performers and their two special guests will encourage the audience to participate in this unique experience.

The gallery will be open until 7pm on this special day, and the event will take place outside after the gallery has closed.

After thrilling more than 8 million people worldwide, CORTEO will embark on a new journey next March as the same enchanting production but now in arenas, giving more people the opportunity to enjoy a Cirque du Soleil show in their own town. The show will visit Oshawa at the Tribute Communities Centre for a limited run of six performances, from June 21 to 24, 2018.

GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS Title Attempt: World's Largest LEGO® Flag

In celebration of Canada Day, LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre Toronto is attempting to secure the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for the Largest LEGO® Brick Flag by building a massive 20-by-10-foot Canadian flag at the attraction from Monday, June 25 to Thursday, June 28. The larger-than-life flag will be built from nearly 250,000 LEGO® bricks and weigh 1,100 lb.

The existing GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for the Largest LEGO® Brick Flag is held by Oman Avenues Mall, in Oman, for a 7-by-13 ft. flag built in 2017.

Visitors can be a part of the experience by engraving their name into a LEGO® brick for just $2, which will be showcased on a plaque by the colossal flag. All proceeds will be donated to child-focused charity, Merlin’s Magic Wand.

Additionally, LEGO® Canada will be at Vaughan Mills mall on June 28 inspiring visitors to create patriotic LEGO® builds, with a parallel online contest launching June 27. Click here to learn more about the contest.

Michie Mee, Canada’s Queen of hip hop, and Big Tweeze in conversation about her rise to fame, the emergence of Toronto as a hip hop epicenter, and her various experiences navigating the recording industry. The conversation will be followed by a live performance.

Following the success of previous intimate Acoustic Conversations, which intertwine conversations and a live performance, the McMichael continues with a series that will provide an in-depth look at the development of the hip hop scene in Toronto. Behind the hype, the videos, and hip hop’s ubiquitous presence are the musical geniuses on stage as well as behind the mixing boards. Producers and Sound Engineers not only make each song precise but work closely with artists to create unique sonic compositions. The conversations will be moderated by Big Tweeze a.k.a Anthony Corsi, Producer and Co-host of Views Before the Six.

Fresh Kils, Controllerist and Juno nominated Producer, who has credits with M.O.P, Fabolous, Saigon, The Alkoholiks, and Kool G Rap in conversation with Big Tweeze. Fresh Kils will dive into the world of controllerism (art and practice of using musical software controllers), discuss his touring and production life, and perform a live demonstration showcasing his unique skill set by playing the MPC (Music Production Controller).
