As sad as it is, the days of frolicking outdoors have left us, and the long months of cold are here. While this may not be the best for action al fresco, there is tons of fun to be had inside. Check out these great activities for indoor family fun in Central Counties!

Abstract Attack:
For those of you with creative and art-loving kids, head over to the Robert McLaughlin Gallery in Oshawa on November 8th from 1:00-3:00pm for a fun afternoon of Abstract Attack! The rules are being thrown out the window, and thinking outside of the box is encouraged. The challenge is to create something but without the use of paint brushes, pencils, and only making sculptures out of found objects. This daytime activity will really get your children’s brains working, and have them using their utmost creativity to figure out a way to make something spectacular!
An Afternoon with Magoo:
An Afternoon with Magoo will have you and your kids having fun! Reaching back into your childhood days, you’ll be reminded of the giggles and laughter that used to come from spending time with other children, songs, and a fun entertainer. A suitcase full of fun, ukuleles, guitars, and compelling stories will have your kids cheery and begging for more. Indulge them in this shared experience at The Georgina Arts Centre and Gallery on November 15th from 2:00-4:00pm.
Owl Prowl:
For a mix of some time spent outdoors as well as indoors, head on over to Kortright Centre for Conservation in Vaughan. The Centre promotes sustainability and green energy, with environmentally friendly buildings, and a place to learn about the benefits, uses, and basis of renewable energy. On November 7th and 14th, the Centre has a special event for the whole family. From 7:00 – 9:00pm, go on a hike to experience an evening with owls! Learn how to call them and see if they come or call back! A truly unique experience, led by experts at the Centre, the Owl Prowl will be an interesting evening for all of you!

35th Annual Victorian Tea:
For a grown-up experience for your little ones, and a taste of old time class, dress up and go for a Victorian Tea! Held in the Whitchurch-Stouffville Museum and Community Centre, the 35th Annual Victorian Tea is on November 28th from 11:00 am to 2:30 pm. Tea service includes finger sandwiches, trifle, plum pudding and seasonal baking. The gift shop will also be open in case you want to do some holiday shopping for unique gifts. Enjoy an old timely tea with the whole family!
