Celebrate the launch of the Anne and Maud Experience on June 12th at Pickering Village Museum, set location for Anne with and E, and tour Uxbridge’s Historic Sites through the eyes of L.M. Montgomery, famous author of Anne of Green Gables.
Pickering Museum Village Launch Event 10am-4pm
- LAUNCH EVENT 10am-4pm with Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 3pm at Pickering Museum Village including a sample of the Anne Experience program with free tastings, heritage costumes, music, tea blending with scones, ice cream, fries, giveaways, and a behind the scenes look at where various “Anne” movies were filmed.

Uxbridge Launch Day Celebration- 10am-5pm
- TOURS– Free tours at the Leaskdale Manse National Historic Site, Thomas Foster Memorial, and Uxbridge Historical Centre.
- TROLLEY-Hop on, hop off trolley and bus shuttle departing from Downtown Uxbridge (23 Brock St.) to the Leaskdale Manse, and Uxbridge Historical Centre.
- SPECIAL GUESTS:
- Blue Heron Books is hosting an Anne of Green Gables cookbook signing by Kate Macdonald, Lucy Maud Montgomery’s granddaughter.
- Leaskdale Manse National Historic Site will host actress Jennifer Carroll, as Maud, to greet visitors. (1pm-5pm)
- SPECIAL EXPERIENCES– Enjoy Anne and Maud themed experiences at:
- SELF-GUIDED DRIVING TOUR- Explore the Lucy Maud Montgomery Trail yourself with a self-guided driving Tour (approx. 3 to 4 hours with stops) which tells the story of the famous author while living in the area from 1911 to 1926.
