Nothing says autumn like a day on the farm – pumpkin patches, wagon rides, corn mazes and feeding animals hay! Indulging in some home baked pies, fresh fruits and veggies, pick your own apples, and more. Here’s a list of fun fall activities in Central Counties that’s bound to be great for the whole family.
Pingle’s Farm in Oshawa is the epicentre of fall fun. Boasting a giant corn maze, as well as apple, strawberry, pumpkin and fall raspberry picking, the day can be spent enjoying the crisp autumn weather. While the kids take off through the giant maze (which takes between 45 minutes to 60 to complete), gather up your seasonal fruits to take home and bake into pie for Thanksgiving, or to jam up into delicious preserves. Consider planning a birthday party here as well, and ensure you return for the festivities during the holiday season.

Situated in a tranquil area, Forsythe Family Farms is a great escape from the bustle of Toronto. Bring the family for a visit to their corn maze – 2 acres to get lost in! Weekends give you the chance to ride on a wagon down Fairy Tale Lane to Forest Trail, speak with the farm educator who will enlighten you and your kids on the farming process, giving insight into where your food comes from. And of course, a cuddle station, where bunnies and other small animals can be interacted with. Pick your own tomatoes, apples, and pumpkins are available, as well as their own farmer’s market, stocked full of fresh and cooked goodies. Don’t forget about their naturally raised meats, where animals are fed nutritious food, free of hormones, and given adequate room to run around and play, ensuring they live a happy and healthy life.
