Stop #1: Wildlife Pictures at Not So Hollow Farm

Not So Hollow Farm is brimming with life. From the vibrant colours of the wildflowers to the butterflies fluttering by, this is a nature lover’s paradise! Nestled in the Purple Hills of Mulmur, located between Collingwood and Orangeville, Not So Hollow Farm specializes in growing potted trees and shrubs, native to Ontario, for you to take home. Check out their kiosk, housed in a cool re-purposed shipping container, featuring amazing vegan and gluten free baked goods, as well as many other local and sustainable products. A hike around the farm presents lots of photo opportunities: stroll through the wildflower meadow, permaculture orchard, and look for the butterflies and bees out pollinating. Okay, we have wildlife covered – let’s get luxurious!

Stop #2: Luxury at Hockley Valley Resort

Food selfie of fine dining: ✓
Pic on the golf course: ✓
Picturesque countryside panoramic shot: ✓
All of these instagramable experiences are waiting at Hockley Valley Resort. Their mission is to treat you with genuine hospitality and surround you with comfort and elegance, which they certainly do. It is the perfect place for a weekend getaway, a romantic dinner, an afternoon of golf, a spa trip, and so much more. They have new events happening all the time including live entertainment, holiday celebrations, and special spa packages. One of our favourite parts of the resort is their farm. The farm provides 80% of the fruits and vegetables for the kitchen in the summer months. It is a four-acre farm that helps reduce their carbon footprint, while providing fresh, local food. So when you snap that perfect pic of your expertly plated meal you can use #local #farm to hashtag it! Now that you have experienced luxury, it’s time for an outdoor adventure.

Stop #3: Outdoors Adventure in The Albion Hills Conservation Area and Campground

A post shared by TRCA Parks (@trcaparks) on

Just a short day trip north of Toronto, the Albion Hills Conservation Area is the perfect place to seek adventure. A day spent mountain biking on the single track will provide countless photo opportunities. Snap a photo of the trail ahead or take a well-earned, sweaty selfie. There are more than 50 kilometres of double-track and technical single-track trail, all with fast, rolling terrain and long down-hills, plus a bike wash station to clean of your bike after a day riding. Explore the beauty of Albion Hills on trails designed for riders of all ages and skill levels. All that riding will certainly cause you to build up an appetite, so let’s get some food!

Stop #4: Historical Architecture Newmarket

When you’re in the Greater Toronto Area, a day trip or overnight stay in Newmarket simply makes sense. There’s the down-to-earth appeal of a small town mixed with the big city attractions and events that you want. Head down to Main Street and get ready to marvel at the historic 1800’s style architecture. It has such a distinctive look that you will want to snap photos of all the buildings. Make it a full day of adventuring downtown with a yoga class, grab a cup of coffee, or add a new one-of-a-kind piece to your wardrobe. Next up on the road trip is a sweet, sweet treat.

Stop #5: Sweet Treat at Hollywood Cone Oshawa

At Hollywood Cone you won’t find any ordinary cone or shake! They put their own unique take on ice cream that will be sure to impress your taste buds and your followers. They give you the full red carpet experience, literally. Order as you stand on a red carpet, while a classic movie theme blasts from their speakers. The menu includes soft serve cones, toppings, shakes, floats, and banana splits. We love the “Reese Wheresmyspoon” Banana Split, a massive concoction that starts with vanilla soft serve topped with a whole banana, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, peanut butter, chocolate sauce, whipped cream and Reese’s Pieces. Yum. We are already planning our next road trip back! Let’s end our road trip with an inspiring finish.
