This article is an oldie but a goodie!

Our blog is chock full of great ideas for fun things to see and do in York Durham and Headwaters. We are always adding new content and updating old posts, but sometimes you might stumble upon something from our vault. If this article has inspired you to hit the road, be sure to double-check that the featured stops in this post are still welcoming visitors.

If there’s one place to stop for both spectacular Headwaters views and stories, it’s the beautiful Museum of Dufferin in Mulmur. Take in the Corn Flower Glass gallery, seasonal exhibits, and then hit the road on one of the MoD’s three local driving tours.  Due east is the historic Rosemont General Store – home to great shopping, imported treats and an adorable little restaurant. Don’t forget to grab a selfie with the moose statue out back!

Next, head into Hockley and visit another fabulous general store. The Hockley General Store recently reopened after some beautiful renovations – prepare yourself for delectable pastries, lunches, gourmet pantry ingredients and gorgeous housewares! This adorable shop is also an LCBO outpost – so you can snap up some of Headwaters’ beloved local brews and wines while you’re there.

Down the road, you’ll find Hockley Valley Provincial Nature Preserve (part of the Niagara Escarpment Biosphere Reserve) and home to a great mix of moderately-challenging trails. Take in the stunning cathedral forests under a fresh snowfall, and the head across the road for check-in, rest and refuelling at Hockley Valley Resort and Spa!
