Georgina Fall Adventures – by land, water or sky!

If adventure is calling your name this Fall, then Georgina is where you’re headed!

For the thrill-seeker in you, how about giving skydiving a try? Georgina is home to the Parachute School of Toronto guaranteed to provide you with that adrenaline rush you are craving. If it’s your first time freefalling through the sky, you might want to consider a tandem jump, where you’re securely attached to an experienced instructor during the approximate 13,500-foot drop. It’s roughly a 5-minute flight down to the ground – you’ll get to enjoy the views and rush of falling, while the instructor does all the work! Solo jumps are also available for the fearless at heart. Advance reservations are recommended.

tandem jumpIf you’re not familiar with Georgina, it is located on the southern shores of Lake Simcoe – and naturally, a water adventure awaits! Head to Lake Simcoe Watersport Rentals and jump on a sea-doo (aka “the dirtbikes of the water”) and experience Lake Simcoe in a thrilling new way! Sea-doo rentals are briefly available in the Fall through the end of September. Book ahead to secure your spot, but if you’ve missed this window for Fall, a return trip to Georgina in the Summer is in order.

Georgina is also home to Sibbald Point Provincial Park where you can hike or bike to your heart’s content. Fall is the perfect time to visit and spend time outdoors, reconnecting with nature, while taking in the fall colours, sights and smells. Don’t have a bike? Ride The Wind Rentals has got you covered. Follow the Lake Simcoe Trail and enjoy a leisurely ride with beautiful lakeside views as you follow the route along the shoreline.

Kid HikingStop in at Lake Simcoe Arms Pub and Restaurant for a bite to eat before heading back on the road.  You’ll also want to make a pit stop at Homestead Orchards to pick up a yummy fresh baked pie, or two. Their jams are pretty sweet too – pun intended.

Lake Simcoe Arms RestaurantNow, if you’d like to stay an extra day, grab your camping gear and take a stab at some Fall camping in Sibbald Point Provincial Park (open through October 15, 2019).  Or, if you’re like a me, and prefer a roof over your head, then reserve a room at The Briars or Ramada Jackson’s Point before getting on the road.
