Our blog is chock full of great ideas for fun things to see and do in York Durham and Headwaters. We are always adding new content and updating old posts, but sometimes you might stumble upon something from our vault. If this article has inspired you to hit the road, be sure to double-check that the featured stops in this post are still welcoming visitors.

This year, more than ever, the notion of shopping local, and supporting small business owners, is gaining in popularity, particularly as we approach the holiday season.  Luckily, our small-town main streets, right here in York Region, are lined with unique artisanal shops that are ‘Ready When You Are’ to help find that perfect gift. But, if you’d rather not head outdoors and get thrown into the hustle and bustle that is holiday shopping, no need to fret, many of our small-town merchants offer online shopping as well, with delivery and/or pick up options available, so sit back and relax, and support local right from the comfort of home.

This is made

Redefined Finds, located on Main Street in the small town of Whitchurch-Stouffville, carries an eclectic mix of local artisanal items from apparel to jewellery, gifts and home décor. A series of workshops and DIY Kits are also available and stocked to their online shop. Drop by or browse their selection virtually – ‘redefined’ furniture and upcycled finds can also be found here… although the furniture items are pick up only!

This Is Made, a collective artisan boutique in Vaughan, is your one-stop shop for unique one-of-a-kind finds, with over 30 local merchants, both on-site or online.  From signs, furniture, home decor, clothing, florals, jewellery, hair accessories, cake toppers, pet accessories, candles, charcuterie boards and so much more, you’ll find that perfect item to finish off your list.

Too Good General Store

Too Good General Store, a modern twist on the General Store, brings together a carefully curated collection of Canadian artisans that create small batch hand-crafted goods. While their storefront on Main Street Unionville sadly closed earlier this year, this Unionville local is still committed to bringing the highest quality products for all your curated Canadian treasures to their online store.
