A little fall colour, a little Halloween magic, and a historic main street full of places to eat, shop and explore.
There are some places that are made for fall, and Orangeville is one of them.

Historic buildings line Broadway, independent shops invite you to wander, the leaves turn brilliant shades of red and gold, and come October, the whole town gets a little bit spooky.
Whether you’re looking for a Halloween-filled weekend with haunted walks and elaborate decorations, a cozy fall getaway with cafés and theatre, or a little bit of both, Orangeville makes it easy to build your perfect autumn escape.
Here’s your guide to what to do, where to eat, where to stay and how to get around Orangeville this fall.
What to Do
Boo On Broadway – October 17
Start with Boo on Broadway, Orangeville’s biggest Halloween celebration. Broadway transforms into a spooky downtown playground filled with Halloween fun, entertainment, costumes and activities for the whole family.

It’s also a great excuse to spend the rest of the day exploring the shops, cafés and restaurants along Broadway.
Hunt For Haunted Houses
Forget the haunted house, you can go looking for haunted homes instead.
The Orangeville Hallowe’en Haunt Patrol is a local Halloween competition where residents transform their homes into elaborate spooky displays.
Grab your favourite Halloween playlist, pile into the car and make an evening of driving around town to see the decorations. Check in on their Facebook to see the participating houses https://www.facebook.com/p/Orangeville-Halloween-Haunt-Patrol-100070080250955/
Perfect for: Families, Halloween lovers and anyone who spends October judging other people’s Halloween décor.
Take A Haunted Walk
Orangeville has plenty of stories hiding behind its historic buildings.
Join Haunted Orangeville Walking Tour for a lantern-lit walking tour through downtown, where you’ll hear local ghost stories, legends and tales from Orangeville’s past.
Looking for something a little darker?
The Whiskey & Bones Walking Tour dives into Orangeville’s early cemeteries, Prohibition-era history and some of the town’s more mysterious stories.

Our advice: Wear comfortable shoes. You are going to be walking…and looking over your shoulder.
Get A Little Witchy
For a Halloween experience that’s more witchy than scary, make your way to Healing Moon.
Browse crystals, tarot and oracle cards, incense and other mystical goodies, and keep an eye out for seasonal events like tarot readings, bone castings and witchy gatherings.
Even if you don’t consider yourself a witch, it’s a very fun place to browse while you’re exploring downtown.
Shop Historic Broadway
Set aside some time to simply wander Broadway, Orangeville’s historic main street.
Independent shops, boutiques, cafés and local businesses fill the downtown, making it the perfect place to spend an afternoon browsing.
And during Halloween season, the shops get into the spirit with spooky displays, seasonal finds and plenty of opportunities to take home something you didn’t know you needed.
Warning: Leave room in the car.
Chase The Fall Colours

When you need a break from downtown, head to Island Lake Conservation Area.
The trails around the lake are beautiful in autumn, with colourful leaves reflected across the water.
It’s an easy way to add some classic Ontario fall scenery to your Orangeville getaway, and the perfect excuse to get outside between meals.
Pick Your Perfect Pumpkin

About 15 minutes from Orangeville, Sweet Pea’s Farm is an easy addition to your fall adventure.
Visit during Pumpkinfest for pumpkins, fall activities and all the classic farm-season fun.
It’s the perfect stop if your definition of fall includes coming home with a pumpkin that is slightly too large for your trunk.
Swap Ghost Stories For Live Theatre
Not everything has to be spooky.
From October 15 to November 1, 2026, catch Love is For Poor People | Or You Can Do Nothing by Stewart Lemoine at Theatre Orangeville.
This double bill of witty one-act plays delivers two sharply observed and delightfully offbeat stories. Perfect for a night out when you want something a little less supernatural.
Fall date night idea: Dinner → Theatre → cocktails.
Where to Eat & Drink

Greystones Restaurant & Lounge
Make Greystones your stop for a special dinner, delicious cocktails and a little bit of history. The restaurant is known for its fine dining experience and has a haunted past of its own.
Feeling brave? You can even buy a ghost a drink. Because apparently dinner in Orangeville comes with a supernatural plus-one.
Located directly below The Nest Suites on Broadway, Bluebird Café is an Orangeville staple and an easy choice for breakfast, lunch, coffee or a casual meal.
It’s also the perfect place to fuel up before heading out to explore the rest of downtown.
Need a fall drink? Make a little café crawl out of it. Mochaberry and Greystones Café are both great spots to grab coffee and settle into those cozy fall vibes.
And yes, ordering something pumpkin-spiced is encouraged.

For cocktails, live music and a night out, Revival 1863 is one of the most unique spots in town.
The cocktails are creative, the atmosphere is fun and the live music makes it an easy place to spend the evening.
And Halloween is when things get particularly interesting, with Halloween parties and live entertainment.
Where to Stay

Want to be right in the middle of everything? The Nest Suites are located directly above Bluebird Café on Broadway, putting you within easy walking distance of downtown shopping, restaurants, Theatre Orangeville and evening entertainment.
They’re also developing Halloween-themed packages, making this an especially fun option for a spooky-season getaway.
Basically: wake up, walk downstairs, get coffee, start exploring.
Prefer a traditional hotel? Best Western Orangeville is another convenient option for your getaway and is within walking distance of Broadway.
It’s a good home base if you want to spend your days exploring downtown and your evenings enjoying Orangeville’s fall and Halloween events.
How to Get Around
By Car
A car gives you the most flexibility, particularly if you want to visit Sweet Pea’s Farm, explore Island Lake or drive around to see the Hallowe’en Haunt Patrol displays.
But once you’re downtown, you can park the car and explore much of Orangeville on foot.
On Foot
Broadway is made for wandering. Many of the places you’ll want to visit—including shops, cafés, restaurants, Healing Moon, Theatre Orangeville, The Nest Suites and Revival 1863—are close enough to turn your car keys over to your hotel and explore on foot.
Which is especially useful when your evening plans involve cocktails.
From Toronto Without A Car
You can even make an Orangeville getaway without driving. From Union Station, take the Kitchener GO Train to Brampton, then connect onward by bus to Orangeville. Once you’re downtown, many of the main attractions are walkable.
You’ll want a car or alternative transportation for stops outside downtown, such as Sweet Pea’s Farm, but for a Broadway-focused weekend, you can get surprisingly far without one.
Build Your Perfect Orangeville Getaway
The best part? You don’t have to do it all.
For the Halloween Lovers
Boo on Broadway → Haunt Patrol → Haunted Orangeville → Revival 1863 Halloween party
For the Witchy Weekend
Broadway shopping → Healing Moon → tarot or bone casting → cocktails at Revival 1863
For the Cozy Fall Crowd

Or skip the ghosts entirely and spend the day drinking coffee and browsing Broadway.
That’s the beauty of a fall getaway in Orangeville: you get to make it your own.
