2018 Theme is ‘Homegrown & Handmade’.
Orangeville Fair organized and operated by the Orangeville Agricultural Society has been in existence for over 160 years! It is probably one of the oldest volunteer organizations in the County of Dufferin and hosts an event that is not exclusive to any member of the community-young or old.

The annual fair was “a highlight in the activities of the year in rural communities”. The exhibition of wares was combined with entertainment, either in side-shows or small midways and the local community band. Friendships were renewed, ideas exchanged and prizes awarded for the best fruit, baked goods or handwork, horses and livestock.

The present day country fair is not a lot different. Livestock is judged and sometimes points given and accumulated for further prestige at larger shows or, just a ribbon to a first time exhibitor that handled the calf well in showmanship is enough of an achievement. Home Crafts displays are making a comeback to fill the exhibition halls with colours, scents and oohs and ahhs. And, there are ribbons for those talented, artistic young folks as well.

Come and see what the community produces!

Godfather of Canadian hip hop music, Maestro Fresh-Wes, and Big Tweeze in conversation about his early years in Toronto’s hip hop scene, his longevity in the industry, and his burgeoning acting career. Maestro will also discuss his artistic journey as a Canadian emcee in New York as he worked on his 1994 release ‘Naaah Dis Kid Can’t be from Canada?!! The conversation will be followed by a live performance.

Following the success of previous intimate Acoustic Conversations, which intertwine conversations and a live performance, the McMichael continues with a series that will provide an in-depth look at the development of the hip hop scene in Toronto. Behind the hype, the videos, and hip hop’s ubiquitous presence are the musical geniuses on stage as well as behind the mixing boards. Producers and Sound Engineers not only make each song precise but work closely with artists to create unique sonic compositions. The conversations will be moderated by Big Tweeze a.k.a Anthony Corsi, Producer and Co-host of Views Before the Six.
