Enniskillen, Ontario, may be a small town but it holds the magic of the holiday season at its heart, thanks to Hope’s Christmas Tree Farm. Nestled on the Oak Ridges Moraine, this family-owned and operated business is more than just a place to find your perfect tree. Hope’s Christmas Tree Farm is an all-encompassing holiday experience – a place where family traditions are born, cherished memories are made, and the magic of the season fills every visitor with joy. From sipping hot cider and meeting the farm’s celebrities aka their miniature pet donkeys, to photo sessions with Santa or shopping local artisan goods in the on-site Holiday Market, this farm truly has something for everyone!

Hope's Tree Farm

A Hallmark Love Story (the one where a city boy meets a country girl)

Like a scene straight out of a Hallmark movie, the farm captures the romance of chasing a shared dream. Dan and Rebecca Hope first met at Waterloo University, where they both pursued degrees in Environmental Studies. Their love story flourished amidst rows of evergreens while working together at a local family-run Christmas tree farm during the holiday season. Inspired by the joy they witnessed and the way the tree farm experience brought families together, Dan and Rebecca realized a dream of their own: to one day create a place where people could gather to embrace the holiday spirit. And they did just that! Fifteen years ago, they planted their first trees and in 2020 they opened their farm to the public. Now celebrating their fifth operating season, Hope’s Christmas Tree Farm has become a hallmark of holiday cheer.

Hope's Tree Farm Family

As if their love story wasn’t sweet enough, Dan and Rebecca’s dream of bringing families together over the holidays has come full circle. Their two sons studying at Brock University travel home on weekends to help at the family farm, while their youngest son lends a hand from home. Despite balancing full-time jobs alongside the year-round demands of maintaining the tree farm, Dan and Rebecca find the rewards outweigh the challenges. For them, the joy comes from connecting with people, supporting the talented local artisans in their community, and hosting a place where the holiday season truly feels special for everyone.

More Than Trees: An Experience Tailored to You

Of course, Hope’s Christmas Tree Farm offers a vast selection of Christmas trees to suit every holiday tradition. You can cut down your own tree for a hands-on experience or pick your perfect tree from a variety of fresh pre-cut trees ready to go, each sure to fill your home with the crisp, festive scent of evergreen. The farm also sells greenery and birch sticks for urns, along with handmade wreaths left undecorated – perfect for those feeling crafty and looking to personalize their holiday décor.

Aside from trees, the farm’s gorgeous Holiday Market hosted inside their lovingly restored 18th century barn is worth a trip in itself! Stocked with handmade goods from over 50 local vendors, ranging from cutting boards to maple syrup and ornaments for your tree, their holiday market is the perfect place to do some Christmas shopping with the bonus of supporting talented local artisans. Hours are from 4 PM – 8 PM on Thursdays & Fridays, or from 9 AM – 5 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. For those looking to avoid the rush, Thursdays and Fridays offer a slower pace, and there’s a pretty good chance you’ll catch a glimpse of Santa!

The farm offers a special Santa Experience, allowing families15 exclusive minutes of quality time with Santa Claus. This is the perfect opportunity to create lasting memories with your little ones or capture family holiday photos, with the option to hire a professional photographer. Due to limiting availability, Santa visits and family photo sessions must be pre-booked online. Booking opens annually on August 1st. For more details, please visit their website.

A Holiday Tradition Worth the Trip

Hope’s Christmas Tree Farm is more than a seasonal stop for a Christmas tree – it’s a beloved tradition. While the trees, Santa visits, and popular holiday market are major draws, it’s the cozy atmosphere – sipping fresh hot cider produced nearby, hearing the laughter of children meeting Aussie the donkey, and the warmth of shared moments – that truly make the visit unique. This holiday season, head to Enniskillen and experience the magic for yourself. It’s a visit that feels like stepping into a holiday movie!
