Open year round in Orono, Ontario, Jungle Cat World gives visitors a chance to learn about wildlife – many threatened with extinction – from around the world.
Are you interested in walking beside a young tiger, petting a wolf or feeding grapes to a lemur? You can experience all of that through Jungle Cat World’s Behind the Scenes program.
2. Celebrate Spring at a Maple Syrup Festival
Winter may seem like it’s never going to end, but you can celebrate Spring’s eventual arrival at a Maple Syrup Festival.
Tap into nature, learn how maple syrup is made, and of course try the free samples!
3. Solve a Mystery at Black Creek Pioneer Village
Black Creek Pioneer Village is hosting a Sherlock Holmes mystery event just for March Break.
Running March 8 to 16, kids can use their detective skills to help solve the mystery of the golden egg.
4. Get Your Adrenaline Pumping

Head outdoors and get some fresh air. A morning or afternoon of skiing, snowboarding, tobogganing and tubing will get the entire family moving and give you a break from the tech gadgets and TV.
The ROC in Georgina is the ultimate playground for a family of outdoor enthusiasts.
Got older kids who are looking for an aerial adventure? Visit the largest treetop obstacle course in the GTA and try ziplining at Treetop Eco-Adventure Park in Oshawa, Ontario!
5. Go for a Walk
Want a slower paced outdoor activity? Consider one of the many kid friendly hiking trails in Central Counties.
There’s also several historic villages as well if you’re looking for some fantastic photo opportunities and restaurants serving up some mouthwatering dishes.
What do you do if you’re not a fan of Winter or if the weather gets really bad during March Break?
Here are 5 Indoor Activities Your Kids Might Love:

It’s not the beach but you can enjoy some R&R by the water’s edge at The Wave Pool in Richmond Hill.
This facility is the only one of its kind in the entire Greater Toronto Area and features a swirl pool, a 160 foot indoor waterslide and sauna.
2. Head to the Mall
Unlike other malls, Vaughan Mills is not just a destination for fashionistas or bargain hunters.
There’s Lucky Strike Lanes for those who want to test their bowling skills.
LEGO fans can head to LEGOLAND Discovery Centre and fishing and outdoor recreation enthusiasts can check out all the fun things at Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World.
3. Get Creative at Paintlounge
Paint on Paper at March Break Paint Lounge
If you have kids who enjoy arts and crafts, Paintlounge in Markham is running a Kid’s Painting Workshop during March Break.
For $25 and 2 hours at Paintlounge, kids will come home with a silhouette masterpiece on canvas.
The best part about this activity is parents don’t have to clean up the mess! Kids can paint to their heart’s content from March 10 to 14.
4. Rendezvous with Reptiles
Head to Reptilia Zoo – just a 5 minute drive from Vaughan Mills – and get up close and personal with some cold blooded species.
Here’s a few tips if you’re making the trip to Reptilia with the kids.
5. Have Some Hotel Fun
There are several family friendly hotels in Central Counties if an overnight getaway or stay is in your March Break budget.
Aloft Vaughan is currently running a $199/night promotion that includes accommodations, complimentary breakfast and 4 tickets to LEGOLAND Discovery Centre.
