**The Power of Grey** is a solo exhibition of encaustic paintings and handbuilt ceramics by Karen Brown at the Alton Mill Arts Centre.
Moving through three gallery spaces—*Listening*, *Softening*, and *Integrating*—the exhibition explores the places between certainty and change. Grey becomes more than a colour: it offers room for uncertainty, tenderness, and more than one way of seeing.
Karen’s paintings combine molten beeswax with photography, watercolour, pigment, and expressive marks. Alongside them, new ceramic vessels and forms bring the exhibition’s ideas into three dimensions. Together, the works invite visitors to slow down, look closely, and notice what emerges between light and dark.
Visit the exhibition at the Alton Mill Arts Centre in Alton, Ontario, and take some time to wander through all three spaces.
