Posted : September 9, 2014

Our blog is chock full of great ideas for fun things to see and do in York Durham and Headwaters. We are always adding new content and updating old posts, but sometimes you might stumble upon something from our vault. If this article has inspired you to hit the road, be sure to double-check that the featured stops in this post are still welcoming visitors.

Sam Young is a catalyst in building the junior golf program in Central Counties. As an owner of the Shelburne Golf & Country Club, he has leveraged his deep knowledge of the game to not only teach Canadian juniors first hand, but also work to develop accessibility and awareness of the game for all.
Through an extensive personal playing career, experience on the board for the Canadian PGA, as well as serving as the president of the Ontario PGA, Sam has developed a comprehensive knowledge of the game, and truly knows how to have a measurable effect on the game for others.
Sam has had a strong impact on Ontario’s golf development, which is now beginning to shine a spotlight on the region as a golf hotbed for budding young golfers. Right now, there are many junior golfers under instructors like Sam’s tutelage that show great promise in becoming the future stars of the game. For more information on some of the names you may want to keep an eye on, you should check out our blog post from August 7th on some of Central Counties rising golf stars.
