Where to Visit in YDH – Based on Your Zodiac Sign

It’s no secret that your zodiac sign can tell others, and yourself a lot about you. It can help us understand compatibility, interests, certain qualities, strengths and weaknesses, and so much more.  If you know your “sun sign” or “zodiac sign” that is a great place to start. Although the realm of astrology goes worlds deeper than just your sun sign, you are still able to learn more and understand yourself better based on this sign. This is because our sun signs represent our primary self and controls our fundamental persona, in other words it can generally tell us who we are as a whole. Each sign is so unique with very different personality traits, as well as likes and dislikes.

Knowing your sign can come in handy when looking to travel or even just going on a day trip. If you know you are a Libra who is always looking for somewhere aesthetic, you can plan your outing around somewhere beautiful. You can begin to plan trips you know you will enjoy! As Ontario’s ultimate road trip destination, we wanted to make sure you got the most out of your summer road trip, that is why based on the typical traits of each sign we have selected the top spots for the signs to visit in York, Durham, or Headwaters this summer!

As a fire sign Aries have a bit of a wild side to them! They are spontaneous and courageous, not much scares an Aries with their act first think later mentality. They also thrive in fast paces environments, have tons of energy, and have been know to get bored… quickly. The perfect place for an Aries to visit this summer is Canada’s Wonderland in Vaughan. Stretching 330 acres and filled with 200 attractions, and featuring 17 roller coasters including the world record-breaking dive coaster the Yukon Striker, there is no time to be bored! Bring a group of friends and find the thrill-seeking adventure (and the funnel cake) you’ve been craving.

Taurus love the finer things in life whether that’s their home, meals, vacation spots, ect… they want an attractive surrounding and the best of the best. Nothing wrong with that! Taurus also enjoy feeling comfortable, in fact they prioritize comfort so much that it is sometimes hard to break them out of their preferred routine and bring them away from their comfortable surroundings. That is why the perfect spot for a Taurus to visit this summer is the stunning new luxury resort in Caledon, Mount Alverno. With gorgeous lux rooms, breathtaking views, surrounding nature and trails, and an in house contemporary fine-dining restaurant called the Vista anyone would fall in love… but we know this is the kind of place a Taurus dreams of! Break out of your almost perfect routine for something better and visit Mount Alverno this summer.

Gemini

May 21st through June 20th

Smart, curious, adaptable, and fun, Geminis enjoy stimulating activities where they can ask a lot of questions, learn, use their brain, and have a great time. A good way to keep a Gemini engaged is to find an activity that they need to analyse, examine… and talk! This summer Gemini’s should head over to the Pickering Museum Village. Not only can you take a tour where the guide is all yours to question for 40 minutes, but they also have an amazing 1920s themed escape room where you have to work as a team, to discuss and dissect clues, and solve a mystery! Have fun, learn something new, and use that big brain of yours Gemini. (Now when you are at your next party you can tell everyone about every interesting fact you learned at the Pickering Museum Village.)

Cancer

June 21st through July 22nd

Cancers are ruled by the moon, which represents comfort, self-care, and maternal energies! Being in a cozy and safe space is a must for a cancer and so is caring for those they love most. That is why Cancers should gather their closest friends and loved ones and check out the amazing Thermea Spa in Whitby this summer. Thermea offers an unparalleled wellness experience with saunas, baths, healing and relaxation rituals, treatments, massages, and more. Not to mention the three restaurants and bar with farm to table ingredients, there is nothing a cancer likes more than a well-cooked meal!

Leo

July 23rd through August 22nd

Always the center of attention, and for a good reason! Leos are smart and driven leaders, who love to stand out, and put on a show. They are their best self when showing their friends new and exciting places or things to do, and getting the perfect Instagram picture doesn’t hurt either. They like things big and bright, like a sunflower! This summer Leo’s should check out an insta worthy sunflower farm like Pingle’s Farm Market with a group of friends. When you arrive at the farm, you’ll take a picturesque wagon ride through the property to the sunflower trail. Pingle’s has planted over 100,000 sunflowers as well as a beautiful field of wildflowers. Once you finish your walk, grab a pair of shears to pick-your-own sunflowers and enjoy live music on the Sunflower Stage!

Virgo

August 23rd through September 22nd

Virgo’s love order, and they work hard to maintain perfection in their life. They are into beauty, nature, helping, curated organized experiences, and ‘doing it themselves’. Always organized, they wish the rest of the world would follow suit. We knew it was important to find a place where Virgo’s could have some personal space, spend time in nature, beautify their lives, and not feel overwhelmed by an experience that wasn’t organized. We suggest heading over to River Ridge Farm Flowers in Leaskdale for their pick your own flower experience. Stroll the fields of stunning flowers, enjoy some meditation or yoga in the fields, marvel at the view, and create your own stunning arrangement to bring home. You will be provided with a mason jar, water, and clippers, the rest is up to you!

Libra

September 23rd through October 22nd

Everything a Libra is known for is everything this location represent: Aesthetic, love, beauty, MONEY, art, intellect, and virtue. Parkwood Estate in Oshawa is the home of the late R.S. McLaughlin, Canadian auto baron and founder of General Motors of Canada, and his beautiful family. Inspired by early 20th century Beaux-Arts design, this 15,000 square foot, 55-room mansion was built between 1915 and 1917. The art, architecture, gardens, landscaping and original furnishings are all faithfully preserved in this National Historic Site. Here Libra’s can take in art, history, and beauty through a tour or at one of the amazing events being held this summer. Share your love of all things beautiful with a date and talk about the history and stories this mansion holds!

Scorpio

October 23rd through November 21st

Although not all the time, a common characteristic for Scorpios is someone who is dark, and mysterious. However, these signs are also brave, smart, and passionate! They love truth and fact and especially when those can be combined with learning about something they are passionate about. Some things many Scorpios are passionate about are being active, going on adventures, and mysterious things like the occult (supernatural, mystical, or magical beliefs, practices, or phenomena). That is why the perfect place for a Scorpio to visit this summer in YDH is actually many places. We suggest Scorpios follow our new Spine- Tingling Tour (https://yorkdurhamheadwaters.ca/trail-talks/spine-tingling-tour/). This tour brings you across York, Durham, and Headwater Region to all of our creepy, haunted, and spine-tingling places. Scorpios know ghosts aren’t just for October, they haunt year-round!

Sagittarius

November 22nd through December 21st

Sagittarius love to feel free and resist rules, regulations, constraints and schedules. They’re born travellers, adventurers, explorers and free spirits. As well, Sagittarius love animals especially horses, and are known to be the animal whisperers. This makes sense as their symbol is depicted as a centaur (half horse- half human, mythical creature). Making a Sagittarius a cowboy for the day is making their wildest dreams come true. They need adventurous, wild, never been done before experiences. That is why we recommend Rawhide Adventures! Here you can participate in trail-rides, or stay at the ranch and become a real rancher where you wrangle cattle, and work the land! This experience is like nothing you’ve ever done before.

Capricorn

December 22nd though January 19th

Capricorns are powerful, hard working, and driven. They are the sign that gets stuff done… that is why they apricate status, accomplishment, and people that work hard and play hard. When a Capricorn goes anywhere it is rarely for leisure, and when it is, they do not feel it is worth it unless they are gaining something from the experience. They want to be educated, inspired, or feel accomplished in some way. The perfect pace for a Capricorn to visit in YDH is Holland Marsh Winery in Newmarket. The hard work this business puts into their product is truly inspirational. With award winning wines, a leader in this emerging wine region, and a growing family business there is a lot for this winery to feel accomplished about, and a Capricorn will see that and recognize this status. By taking a tour and learning Holland Marsh Wineries story, then tasting the fruits of their labour in a wine tasting, any Capricorn would feel like this adventure was worth their time.

Aquarius

January 20th through February 18th

Known to be eccentric, this sign truly beats to their own drum. Aquarius are kind, smart, and always want to know more! Saying their head is always up in space is an understatement, figuratively they are always thinking and dreaming and literally they have interests that include conspiracy theories, science, making change, and the universe. We know how interested Aquarius are in space and space travel, and the next best thing to actually shooting them up into the stars is visiting the David Dunlop Observatory in Richmond Hill. The observatory first opened in 1935 and was at the forefront of Canadian astronomical research. Today, they still house the largest telescope in Canada, and run interactive programs and workshops, as well as continue ever important research. A must see for all Aquarius!

Pisces

February 19th through March 20th

With enormous depths of compassion and empathy Pieces are the poets, artists, and romantics of the zodiac world. They love to see the good in the world, and hate anything loud, cruel, and materialistic. As well, this water sign holds true to itself and adores all things water. Although they can too often be in their own head and elusive, they are also imaginative and mystical. The perfect place for a Pisces to explore this summer is Island Lake Conservation Area in Orangeville. This conservation area offers no shortage of trails, rentals, experiences, and beauty. Not only can Pisces be alone with their thoughts here, they can also bring friends to connect on a deeper level surrounded by nature. Not to mention the 400- acre lake where Pisces can connect with water. On the lake you can swim, fish, rent canoes, kayaks, paddle boards, and boats. See a variety of waterfowl including loons, osprey and ducks and feel good about supporting conservation in Ontario. All around this is the perfect day trip for this compassionate water sign.
